As many of you may know, we feed and care for many different kinds of animals.  One day we were late getting some food out for the squirrels and when we went outside, we discovered that they had chewed through all of our tomato plants.  Neville suggested that I see if we could get more information through automatic writing as to why they did this.  Below is what came through.  The concepts presented have had quite an impact on our world view.  This can be applied across the board, children, friends, ourselves...

Why did the squirrels chew up the tomato plants?

The phenomenon of “over-abundance” can be seen in many areas.  The squirrel’s behaviors and thought processes are out of balance due to their bodies being out of balance.  Squirrels, in their natural environment, will find as much nourishment as their bodies will put forth effort.  This balances their metabolism (health) and thereby their psyche (mental health).  When the situation is such that they spend no energy and receive an abundance of nourishment, the extra energy has to go somewhere.  And that somewhere is in the misfiring of their social skills, in their need to “protect” the abundance and in anger when the abundance wavers in any way.  As Beings evolve, they can recognize the fact that abundance is a gift that is to be appreciated, and through self-control, utilized only to the extent that it is required in the betterment of the being.

We see this phenomenon with humans also.  This is why, for the most part, the more people have, the more they ‘want’ and the more they ‘want’ the more they feel they have to protect and defend.  The more they do this, the more isolated they become and the more isolated they become, the more they feel empty and cannot understand this in lieu of the apparent abundance, so they seek more…  This pattern goes on and on.   This is the nature of the human “loop tape” programs that run in their mind.  If we were alone on the street and very hungry, and someone invites us in and gives us a lovely meal, we would be ever so grateful.  We would expand our love-selves and envelope their kindness.  On the other hand, if we went to their houses everyday and grew to expect this, we would no longer be in a state of appreciation, we would then be in a state of “expectation”.

After a while, “expectation” turns into the leap frogging phenomenon of more, more, different, not good enough and so on.  In our evolution to higher consciousness, we learn much from this.  If we receive every offering with humility and grace, then we live in a world of gratitude.  If we aspire to free ourselves of “expectation” and replace it with an eternal state of blissful gratitude, we rise up to the “TRUE ABUNDANCE”, which is joy.

Thank you, squirrels for teaching this valuable lesson.
